PORTSMOUTH STUDENT ACCOMMODATIONS

Students only receive confirmation of a place at their desired university shortly before the start of their first term. This leaves little time for students to view potential accommodation, creating a spike in demand for viewings, creating difficulties for students and staff alike.The aim of this project was to create an online journey to allow prospective tenants the opportunity to view all the facilities online with a tool that would give the student the confidence to make a booking with or without a physical visit.

A number of virtual tours were created for all room types and common areas allowing students to explore all areas of the accommodation in an immersive way. The virtual tours give a true sense of scale and space, while tools such as measurement mode allows students to accurately check room dimensions accurately and with confidence.

The virtual tours have reduced the number of physical viewings as students had confidence to confirm their booking remotely. This benefited students as they no longer needed to travel long distances to conduct a physical viewing and also alleviated pressure on staff at the accommodation who previously had to pack in a large number of viewings in a short space of time.
